Alhumdulillah another year is coming to an end. A time for new beginnings and resolutions for all.
For me 2023 was really a mixed bag of a year..both personally and professionally. Seeing what’s been happening in the Gaza, Palestine in the latter part of the year has been heartbreaking as well as devastating. I still can’t believe there’s no ceasefire in sight with the amount of videos being posted online daily from Journalists in Gaza showing the atrocities Israel is committing and no-one is doing anything to stop it. It just astounds me to see how are the world leaders are continuing to let this happen?
Me, like countless others feeling helpless, powerless and at times angry as we’re unable to do anything other than to keep talking, raising awareness about it, joining the protests and donating what we can.
Despite all of what the people of Gaza are going through, it’s their strong and unwavering faith that has been truly inspiring. Even in their darkest moments, Allah is always with them, ready to provide comfort, solace and guidance; this has really helped me in renewing my faith this year and I will be forever thankful.
We as Muslims believe everything happens for a reason, and by the will of Allah. So I really really hope in 2024, we see a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and a free Palestine.
In sha’ Allah.
I hope 2024 brings you everything you’ve hoped for, more opportunities to prosper and progress, In sha’ Allah.
I’ll leave you with this quote from Mufti Menk; when times get tough just remember there is relief and something even greater is waiting for you around the corner.
In life, we may not understand why certain things happen to us, but we believe that the Almighty has the best plan for us, so don’t lost hope.
